Question:
We have been looking for a home in town with a REALTOR® for about a week now. Nancy, our REALTOR®, will call us about a new listing; provide us with a copy of the listing so that we can drive by first, and if we like what we see she sets up an appointment to go see it. So far we have seen four houses we liked, but they were not exactly what we were looking for. Are we being too fussy, and are we driving Nancy crazy?
Rena H.
Answer:
Dear Rena
Buying a home is not like buying anything else in your life. It is probably the single most expensive thing you will ever buy. A home is not just a thing; it is a way of life, a sanctuary from the world, a safety zone for your children, and an outlet for your own creativity. Why would you not be fussy then? You want to buy the home that fits all your requirements, and trust me so does you’re REALTOR®. A happy and contented customer is the best advertising any REALTOR® can have. It may sometimes feel like you, the client, are trying the patience of your REALTOR® but you are not the exception but rather the rule. Never feel like you should “settle” just because you feel you are causing your REALTOR® distress. Helping you find your “dream home” and ensuring your happiness are the most important things that your REALTOR® cares about. REALTORS® realize that they are selling you a home and not just a house.
So Rena I hope you feel reassured that you are not being to fussy nor are you causing Nancy distress, because you are both involved in the same goal you and your family’s happiness
